Contribute to the Your Community Archive

The Arts Rescue Mission Archive is open source, community-driven, and always growing. Our goal is to preserve the history, voices, and legacies of artists while also sharing knowledge that helps our community thrive. We can’t do this alone—we need your eyes, ears, and ideas to keep the record alive.

How You Can Contribute

  • Submit Ideas & Suggestions
When you sign in, you can leave comments with tips, stories, or recommendations. If there’s an artist, event, or organization we should take a closer look at, let us know. You are part of our research team.

  • Share Images, Articles & Links
Upload photographs, clippings, event programs, or studio materials you think belong in our collection. You can also send us links to exhibitions, performances, or archives worth documenting.

  • Upload Files Directly
Our portal allows you to upload up to 10 files at a time, including video, audio, images, documents, or archival records. Every piece of information helps us build a fuller picture of our community’s cultural story.

Recognition for Your Contribution

We review every submission, and if we add it to the archive, you will be credited in our online publications and the books we produce. You can also choose to be listed publicly as a contributor to the archive.

Be Part of the Mission

Your input doesn’t stop with documentation. We welcome your ideas on how we can best serve aging and at-risk artists. If you’d like to get involved more directly, you can volunteer with one of our four programs:

  • Restore – Rehabilitation and emergency assistance for artists in crisis

  • Shelter – Protecting and preserving an artist’s body of work

  • Provide – Supporting artists with opportunities for a book project or “Second Act”

  • Preserve – Archiving, documenting, and publishing the history of Texas and beyond

Why It Matters
